An annual sports camp in partnership with Rwanda Children, bringing hundreds of kids together through sport, care, and community.
what is Run Bugesera?
A week of sport that changes a whole year
Since July 2022, each year we bring together over 400 kids, prioritizing the most vulnerable through teacher referrals. Across seven days, every child receives hot meals, fresh water, medical insurance, dental care, school supplies, and daily teachings rooted in Rwandan cultural values.

Everything a kid needs, in one week
Medical care
A year of coverage
Every participant receives a full year of medical insurance, plus free clinical care and medicine throughout the program.
Dental care
Healthy smiles
Two dentists from the Oral Health Foundation of Rwanda lead oral-health lessons and one-on-one consultations, referring campers who need urgent care.
Food & water
Two meals a day
Most of these kids normally get one meal a day. At camp, every child gets two hot meals, a snack, and fresh water, every single day.
Education
Values that last
Daily teamwork, speakers, and debriefs center on Rwandan cultural values: resilience, creativity, gratitude, honesty, and curiosity.
Safety
A place to belong
A safe, structured, welcoming space for kids who might otherwise spend the week alone in the streets or doing hard manual labor.
Community
Giving back
Campers serve local community members who are no longer self-sufficient, cleaning their homes and taking on tasks to lend a hand.
