Run Ogun
A seven-day youth sports camp run by the Wamufat Youth Community Development Foundation, in partnership with Run Your City.
what is Run Ogun?
Sport, health, and a community that shows up
First held in August 2025, Run Ogun is the start of an annual program. Nearly 500 youth athletes competed across five sports, learned about nutrition and character, and the wider community received free eye care that reached nearly 2,000 people. It came together through local and international partners, traditional rulers, and nationally-recognized athletes, and its ripple effects already include a new pavilion and borehole for the community.

Eye care
Sight for 2,000
Through a partnership with Vision Savers Eye Care Centre, we provided prescriptions, eyeglasses, and surgeries for nearly 2,000 underserved adults and children, four times our original goal.
Sports training
Five sports, real coaching
Basketball, football, golf, tennis, and table tennis, led by nationally-recognized athletes and coaches. Training covered mindset, strategy, injury prevention, and skills for life beyond the field.
Mentorship
Values & cultural pride
Our program connects youth with passionate, experienced mentors and promotes honesty, perseverance, and cultural pride, helping them represent their communities with confidence.
New horizons
Try something new
For many campers, it was their first time holding a golf club or a tennis paddle. New sports, new skills, and a chance to discover a talent they never knew they had.

Help Run Ogun grow
We're looking for dedicated partners and generous donors to fund the next camp: eye care, training, meals, equipment, and the staff who make it all happen.
